Concours Winners
Concours 2024
Sunday 17th March 2024
The Concours d'Elegance was held at Whiteman Park in conjunction with the MG Car Club to celebrate 100 Year of MG.
Congratulations to our trophy winners and all the members who came along and supported the day and a big thank you to the judges who persevered as usual in very warm conditions and who took the judging to another level.
The Concours committee applied the 60% d’Elegance (Show n Shine) and 40% d’Etat (Originality).
The total number of club cars on the park(40+) was probably our best in recent years.

Concours 2023
Sunday 19th March 2023
The Concours d'Elegance was again held at Stirk Park in the City of Kalamunda, Perth Hills.
Congratulations to our trophy winners and all the members who came along yesterday and supported Concours 2023 and a big thank you to the judges who persevered in very warm conditions and who took the judging to another level.
The Concours committee applied the 60% d’Elegance (Show n Shine) and 40% d’Etat (Originality), and for-shadowed the application of a Premier Class for multiple winners, by presenting their cars but not competing: Ed TC, John TC, Rob TF. This appeared to have the desired effect of having many more owners willing to compete, and some new faces in the winner’s circle.
The count of 35 members plus wives and partners for a total of 42 including five members, Mike, Colin, Bill, Ian and Paul, all with Club cars, from the 1961-62 era.
Paul trailered his TC from Busselton to join us which was a huge effort.
The total number of cars on the park(30) was probably as good as the Club has had in recent years.

Concours 2022
Sunday 20th March 2022
The Concours d'Elegance was again held at Stirk Park in the City of Kalamunda, Perth Hills.
This was the 3rd year impacted by COVID-19 however with a few tweaks to manage the event it went ahead.
May of the owners showing cars were a little nervous about the weather as they set of for the hills, however the showers held off and the day was fine and pleasant. With just a few restriction like masks, the event was well supported and there was plenty of shade for family and friends.
With 27 Club cars, 30 members, 7 partners and visitor, they all looked on into the arena, as the watched judge's progressed along the line up assessing cars based condition and originality. There were nine cars presented, 5TCs, 1 TD, 1 TF, 1 PB & 1 J2.
And finally a big thanks to Ed Floate, who presented Kevin McMahon’s TC/9490 which was resurrected from its dusty resting place and presented it to us, a surprising and magnanimous effort, receiving a second place.
Congratulations to the 3 winners and all the entries for making this another successful event.

A footnote from Mike Sherrell.
"From my perspective, our day was both outstanding and unusual, not perhaps for the numbers competing - but for the privilege of having a genuine 100 point T Type at our event. Rob Grantham’s TF/9177 is in a class of its own, here, or anywhere on the world stage. It is not only a beautifully crafted MG, but one that takes the authenticity of a (any) restored car to the highest level, in my opinion."

Concours 2021
The Concours this year again took members to the pleasant Stirk Park in the City of Kalamunda in the hills to the east of Perth.
Although slightly warmish it was not uncomfortable and there was plenty of shade for family and friends.
Thirty-six members were present, and they arrived in 21 TCs, 3 TDs, 2 TFs, 2 Y sedans, 1 YT, a J2 and an MGA.
Two visitors arrived one in a Magnette and the other in an RV8.
Eight cars were presented to the judges 6 TCs, 1 TD and the J2. The judging was completed by early afternoon using the system introduced in 2019 (2020 was cancelled due to Covid 19) with an emphasis on condition and originality. Congratulations to each of the class winners.

Concours 2020
As a consequence of COVID-19 there was no event in 2020 and the Club can only hope all will be well again in 2021
Concours 2019
This year the Club returned to Stirk Park in Kalamunda where the City Officials again made us all very welcome.
Forty-one Club people came along to support the event and displayed thirty-one Club cars. A number of family members were also present including some with grandchildren which added a nice social touch and several visiting MG owners came along including Chris and Janice Keevil all the way from the UK.
A new judging format was introduced and as is the usual case judging was carried out by the Club members.
Congratulations to the Club's Competition Secretary for a well-run day and to the owners of the Class winning cars.

Concours 2018
After many years at Matilda Bay in Crawley and last year at Arden Reserve in East Perth, which was not ideal, the Club moved this year to Stirk Park in Kalamunda where the local City Council was very helpful and made the Club very welcome.
The Park is adjacent to the town centre and has all the conveniences conducive to a successful event.
My thanks to all 57 Club people who came along and not only brought their Club cars but came with other family members including grandchildren which added to the family atmosphere.
32 Club cars were on display and as is the usual custom judging was undertaken by a number of Club members whose efforts were greatly appreciated.
All our congratulations go to the owners of the class winning cars.

Concours 2017
After many years at Matilda Bay in Crawley a change in policy by the Department of Parks and Wildlife caused the Club to look for an alternative site and the Concours was relocated to Arden Reserve in East Perth.
While this had the benefit of a riverside location it would only be used for one year due to a lack of other facilities.
However this did not detract from the quality of the cars presented and congratulations to the TC and Affiliate Class winners.

There were 25TCs, 3TDs, 5TFs, 3Y sedans, 1NB, 1TA, 1PA and 1KY Special and 2MGAs.
